About Us

“Midlife Crisis is a term coined in 1965 by Elliott Jaques and used in Western societies to describe a period of dramatic self-doubt that is felt by some individuals in the ‘middle years’ of life, as a result of sensing the passing of youth and the imminence of old age…The result may be a desire to make significant changes in core aspects of day to day life or situation, such as in career, marriage, or romantic relationships.”* That pretty much sums it up for us!! Not so much the marriage or romantic stuff, but it was time for a new career.

Founded in 2009, Midlife Crisis Apps is based in Atlanta, Georgia and specializes in the development of Mobile Applications (“Apps”).

Our first App, “Is That Gluten Free?” was created to address the problems we, as parents, had trying to shop for gluten free foods.  The confusion in the grocery store can be overwhelming and frustrating!! We knew there had to be a better way to bring all the information into a centralized resource and thus, an App was born!

The tremendous response and support from the gluten free community led us to want to further help those with Celiac Disease and gluten intolerance.  We began to look at the struggles that the gluten free community has when eating out.  This led to the creation of “Is That Gluten Free? Eating Out.” While our first two Apps can currently only be used on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad, we are working to bring “Is That Gluten Free?” to the Android and Blackberry platforms!

With two kids, a dog, a bird, and a few fish, our lives are hectic, but fulfilled.  We are a two person shop…one of us handles programming , the other marketing and we both find ourselves continually updating and entering information.  The demand for our Apps has been overwhelming and keeping up with everything can be daunting…but the great feedback and appreciation for what we do makes it rewarding as well as fun!

Keep checking in as we have plans to develop more great mobile Apps with a few ideas now in the incubation stage.  We are, and will continue to be, inspired and motivated to create apps that help you to better manage your everyday life.
